Faith

Faith - Soul Winning Ministries

You say you are a Christian, you say you are a believer, you say. . .
But what is it that you do that shows others you are a Christian?

Christianity is an action religion. Christ walked, talked, prayed, fed, taught, suffered, died, rose again!!
Praise the Lord !!!

Actions, teaching by example on how we as Christians are to lead our lives for Christ.

Faith in Him who died and rose again for us.

Christ who said, “…Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself….”

Do you want to spend eternity in the fires of Hell? NO!

Do you want loved ones to spend eternity in the fires of Hell? NO!

Do you want your neighbor or co-worker to spend eternity in the fires of Hell?

Christ set the example, He asks us to have faith in Him and that faith should be sufficient enough that when we as Christians are faced with those who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior we must speak out, speak up and share, explain, DO THE WORK, that points others, leads others to faith in Christ.

Salvation is not gained by works, lest only the rich and boastful gain acceptance. Salvation is by faith and that faith is shown to others, to the lost through our obedience to Christ.

Only listening to a sermon each week, and being in the same pew week after week is not a show of faith, it is minimal action to say the least.

Our friendship with the lost, our neighbors is not sharing. Being a good person, a nice person, a friend to others will not show them the way. There are plenty of good, nice, friends in the world today that don’t know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who will burn in Hell for all of eternity.

James 2: 17, 20, 26

(v17) “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

(v20) “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”

(v26) “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Study the word daily. STOP taking another mans word as the truth. Man is sinful, man is fallible, man is NOT the answer. Many a Church today mix whatever works into their doctrine.

The world wants us to be all inclusive. I do not want to be included in anything but God’s Divine plan for my life and an eternity spent worshiping at my Saviors feet. I desire to do as instructed in the Word of God. Loving the Lord my God with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind.

II Timothy 2:15
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

As we pray and study the Word, as we follow the urgings of the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel our understanding of the Truth will become more evident, our walk of faith will increase. Our faith in Christ will increase and our desire to do God’s will, will become more evident. We will show our faith through the works we do in following Christ’s teachings.

In the early 1800’s the Baptist (save for a small few) did not favor special efforts to promote revivals of religion. Since that would have been an interference with the operation of divine sovereignty, it was considered presumptuous to undertake anything of the kind.

The salvation of sinners was determined by God’s selective grace and was to be accomplished independently of all human agency…” Dr. Frank G. Beardsley

The strength of the church, therefore, was to SIT STILL.

Had they forgotten,
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”

Have we forgotten?

“Look over your past life . . . How little regard you have had for the Scriptures, to the Word preached, to the Sabbaths and sacraments! What low thoughts you have had of God and what high thoughts of yourselves! Many of you by the bad examples you have set, by corrupting the minds of others, by your sinful conversation, by leading them in sin and by the mischief you have done in human society other ways, have been guilty of these things that have tended to others damnation. If God should forever cast you off and destroy you, it would be agreeable to your treatment of Himself, of Christ, of your neighbors and yourself.”
Jonathon Edwards 1734

Rise up out of your pews, leave the restrictive confines of the building you call ‘your’ church and seize the everlasting prize”

My prayer for you reading this is that you gain a closer walk with Christ, a walk and talk you share with others.

I John 2:6

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so walk, even as He walked.”

Jesus and His disciples didn’t sit in the pews.

Unplanned Destination

Unplanned Destination - Soul Winning Ministries

Listen to me, believers and sinners alike. If you begin down the road of sin you will come out at a destination you never expected.

I have spoken to criminals, many a person who wondered how they arrived where they are. They started out not as a criminal, but as an ordinary person, with little difference from you or I.

Many a man and woman alike, whether an embezzler, or a murderer, shoplifter or rapist, have I asked, “Whatever came over you to cause you to commit these crimes?” Their answer is that they never dreamed they would do such a thing, it was not what they had planned for their life’s path.

You see, the whore never intended to become a whore when she went along with a guy she barely knew and allowed him to pursue his sinful desires.

You see, the man never intended to be a whore-monger, a sexual predator when he looked at a woman with lust and gave into her allure.

You see, the murderer never intended to be a murderer when he first allowed hate to become lodged in his heart.

Sin may have small beginnings but it has fearful endings. Lust may seem a long way from murder but we are told in James 1:15
Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.”

King David started with a heart as pure as could be found, but his attention was drawn to Bath-Sheba and in the end it resulted in four deaths, fornication and rape.

Sin WILL end in death.

It starts with a personal conviction, but conviction and conscience change with circumstance, with your environment. Your environment dictates what you will tolerate. Tolerance becomes a virtue for those who have no conviction.

Again, sin WILL end in death.

I am asking you, pleading with you to turn to GOD. Get yourself right with Him. Give into the call to salvation, the call from the Holy Spirit for repentance, a true turning away from your sin, not just remorse, a sad feeling that you did wrong, but a pursuit of God’s Law and God’s Grace and a change of direction, a change of circumstance and a change of conviction.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
… Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Your Day of Judgment could be just a heart beat, a car accident, a slip and fall, a stray bullet in a shopping mall away. I beg you to get right with God. Turn to Him. Believe on His Son, Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Hell

Hell - Soul Winning Ministries

“His wrath towards you burns like fire. He looks upon you as worthy of nothing else but to be cast into the fire. He is of purer eyes than to bear to have you in His sight. You have offended Him infinitely more than ever a stubborn rebel did his prince; and yet, it is nothing but His hand that holds you from falling into the fire every moment.
O sinner, consider the fearful danger you are in!
It is the great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you as against any of the damned in Hell.

You hang by a slender thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it and ready any minute to singe it and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any Mediator and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you have done, nothing that you can do, to induce God to spare you one moment.”

Words from a sermon that ring as true today as they did when first spoken by the Revivalist Jonathan Edwards on July 8, 1741.

The point of the message is clear.

Hebrews 2:3
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation . . . “

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

The answer to the fateful dilemma just as clear.

Acts 4:12
“Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

God gives us Grace, gives us a way, an irrevocable promise in His Word.
God gave us His Son Jesus Christ.

On Judgment Day all must stand before a just God.

Hebrews 9:27
“And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Salvation is a gift freely given to those who have faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God.

The fires of Hell are real as is the glory of Heaven whether you believe in them or not, they are real. You say you can’t believe in something you can’t see.

You can’t see gravity, does that mean if you jump off a building you won’t fall?

Why would you be willing to gamble all eternity on that premise, “If I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist.”

Come to Christ, confess your sin, turn away from your sinfulness, have faith in the only One who can save you from the fires of Hell on Judgment Day.

Salvation by faith

Salvation by Faith - Soul Winning Ministries

With what you believe, if you died today would you go to heaven?

A blunt statement that needs an answer of yes or no. Many today “think” that they are living a life that will inevitably result in them spending eternity in heaven. They consider themselves as “good” people. The Word of God, -the Bible- has a simple test, a standard that one can use to determine an answer to the question, “With what you believe, if you died today would you go to heaven?”

Answer the following questions with honesty:

Have you ever lied?

A small white lie, maybe a whopper of a tall tale, just a simple lie to save someones feelings or a lie get you out of doing something unpleasant.

If so . . . you could call yourself a fabricator, a storyteller or a fibber, but Websters Dictionary describes someone who tells a lie as a; liar.

Have you ever stolen something?

A piece of candy, a bag of cash from the back of an armored truck, maybe you took an extra five minutes for lunch, robbing your employer who was paying you to be at work. Add up five minutes a day for a month and you have stolen more than an hour and a half from your boss.

Have you ever looked at someone with lust -sexual desire- for them?
Jesus said, “Whosoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

If you failed the above test you are seen by God as a liar, thief and an adulterer. The Bible warns that one day -Judgment Day- God will punish you in a terrible place called the Lake of Fire.

Not Heaven, HELL.

And those are just three of the Ten Commandments as found in Exodus Chapter 20.

You shall have no other gods before Me.
(no worshiping self, others, idols like movie stars or political leaders, sports stars, etc.)

You shall not make yourself any graven image.
(Don’t bow to some self proclaimed prophet, a carved stone, or a figurine on an altar / shelf)

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
(cursing the Creator who gives you breath, using your mouth to dishonor God)

Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.
(don’t neglect the things of God)

Honor your father and your mother.

You shall not kill.

You shall not commit adultery.
(adultery breaks hearts and dishonors yourself)

You shall not steal.

You shall not lie.

You shall not covet.
(don’t want what belongs to others)

You may be thinking to yourself that Christianity is hopeless, it isn’t. God doesn’t want you to go to hell, in fact He loves you so much that he sent His Son to pay the price for you, so you don’t have to spend eternity in hell -not just a few years or a short time- but eternity.

John 3:16,17

For God so loved the world (you and me) that He gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believes in him (Jesus) should NOT perish (go to hell), but have everlasting life. (in heaven) For God did not send His Son into the world so that He would condemn the world, but so that the world would be saved through Him.”

On Judgment Day you will NOT be judged by what you have done for others, but by what you believe. Do you believe in Jesus Christ?

Ephesians 2:8
“For by grace you are saved, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

God gave us the gift of His Son out of Grace so we might be saved. It is not something we “earn” it is a gift that we can accept or reject. You can’t earn salvation, otherwise only the rich and boastful would “acquire” heaven.

Romans 10:9
“That if thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:13
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

No one can pray the prayer, or confess your sins and no one can repent (turn away from) your sins other than you.

Tell God you know you are a sinner, name your sins, ask His forgiveness, turn away from those sins, don’t just be remorseful, repent. Ask for forgiveness, believe in Jesus Christ who died and rose again paying the price for YOU.

Then read your Bible daily, seek to know Him through prayer and study. Have Faith.

Soul Winning Ministries doesn’t know what is in your heart or what you prayed but God does. Seek His favor, Believe in His Son. Then on Judgment Day we will be assured of heaven not hell. Both are real places. We deserve Hell but God’s grace has been given those who have faith in Jesus Christ.

The Answer

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. ACTS 16:30,31

Confess your sins to God, repent, turn away from your sins,

believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Read your Bible and pray daily.

WHY?

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. . .

ROMANS 3:10

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. . .

ROMANS 3:23

WHAT IS SIN?

Telling lies, stealing, cussing, hatred, lust, disobedience to God’s laws, wanting what someone else has, worshiping things other than God our Creator, making God who we want him to be, to fit our life styles.

Read . . . EXODUS 20:1-17

We must follow God’s Commandments.

He knows what is best for us.

He knows what tomorrow holds for us.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. . .

ROMANS 6:23

And as it is appointed unto men, once to die, but after this judgement. . .

HEBREWS 9:27

ETERNITY IN HELL OR HEAVEN?

These shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. . .

MATTHEW 25:46

WHAT DOES IT COST?

In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sin. . .

COLOSSIANS 1:14

HOW?

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. . .

ROMANS 10:9-13

Confess your sins to God, repent, turn away from your sins,

believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Read your Bible and pray daily.

You received this tract or were directed to this website first and foremost because God loves you.

He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. . . 2 PETER 3:9

So if you are honest with yourself can you say that you are without sin? NO, we have all sinned.

If you died today and stood before God to be judged, would you go to Heaven or Hell for all eternity?

Would Christ speak up for you?

Would He say you believed in Him?

Would Christ be your advocate in front of God.

Or would you be alone, having to answer for all you’ve done?

God loves you so much that He sent His son to suffer and die for your sins, so that you would have the chance to spend eternity in Heaven not Hell. The chance for life everlasting.

If you stood before a judge in a court room here in your home town and told the judge that yes you were a thief, or a rapist or murderer, but you promised to never do it again, a good and just judge would still have to find you guilty due to your confession AND the facts.

But if someone stood up and said He was your advocate, He had paid your fine, the judge would have to set you free, that is the law.

Well, Christ paid your fine, He will stand with you on judgement day, if only you will believe on Him.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved. . . JOHN 3:16,17

Salvation is by Faith. You cannot pay your way into Heaven. You cannot just be a good person and expect to get into heaven. Attending Church every Sunday will not get you into heaven. Saying you believe to impress others will not get you life everlasting. Only faith, a belief in Jesus Christ the Son of God will do.

You may think that the Bible is full of tales and stories but it is all true. Once you have confessed, repented and begin to read and study the Word of God only then will it begin to make sense. Only then will it come alive and supply you with the answers you have been searching for.

It is the aim of this tract and this website that you hear the Word and come to an understanding that all of us need the one true and living God. This can only happen through our faith and belief in Jesus Christ.

150,000 people die every day and go on to judgement. Please re-read the information you have in front of you. Please take the time to consider the facts. It is our plea that you come to know Christ.

Life is a struggle. Yes whether a believer or a non-believer we all have struggles but in the end, on Judgement Day the reward will be great if you believe. The punishment is horrifying beyond imagination if you don’t believe.

If you have read the tract or have read this web page you need to know that someone somewhere is praying for you, not knowing you or your situation. But God who hears our prayers knows and is willing to accept you for who you are, if you will just come to Him through Christ His Son. Then you will be saved by the grace of God.

The Question

I am going to lay out some harsh truths in this questionaire. I am addressing this because I so want you the reader to understand and to be aware. I am not asking these questions to be mean or spiteful, I just want you to be honest with yourself for just a few minutes. So . . .

The Question is this;

If you were to die tonight, would you go to heaven or hell?

Maybe you would answer, that you don’t believe in hell.

You can say you don’t believe in gravity, but climb up on the roof and jump off. You will discover something you don’t believe exists. Just because you deny something, doesn’t diminish it’s existence.

Perhaps you answered that you are a good person who tries to do your best, maybe you give to charity or try to help an elderly neighbor. So you feel you will probably go to heaven. Certainly not hell, you’ve never been that evil. Not like Hitler, a child abuser or a school shooter.

Accepting for the moment that you are a good person, certainly you can then answer some simple questions HONESTLY.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.”

Have you ever told a lie?

A whopper like you were an astronaut that walked on the moon, or dated a movie star or a small white lie like calling in sick when you wanted to sleep in or telling a friend you would meet them and then cancelling when you knew all along you weren’t going.

If you have done something like this you would have to say that you are a liar.

Be honest now, you said you were a good person.

Have you ever stolen something?

Maybe you robbed a bank or just came in five minutes late but ‘clocked in’ on time, stealing five minutes from your boss. Did you take an extra donut from the box, leaving the last guy in line out of luck, something this simple is theft.

They call people who do this thieves, it is all stealing.

Be honest now, you said you were a good person.

Have you ever looked at someone with the thought of what it would be like to have sex with them?

Have you ever hated someone so much that you wished them harm or death?

Have you ever cussed, used the foulest of language?

Any or all of the above make you a. . . ?

Be honest now, you said you were a good person.

But it seems that you aren’t so good in fact you are a . . .

Liar, thief, adulterer, murderer with a foul mouth.

With that in mind, do you still think you are a good person who would go to heaven if you died tonight?

If you were to stand before a judge, would you say to the judge that you promised to never do these things again?

Would you expect a good judge to let you go?

No, a good judge would find you guilty and fine or sentence you.

What if someone were to stand up and say that they had paid your fine, paid the price for you?

The good judge would have to let you go free.

But if you decide you don’t want someone to pay the price, the fine, the penalty for you and your deeds it will come down to you and only you facing the penalty, the sentence handed down by the judge.

Someday, after you die you will have to appear before The Judge, the One true living God, who is pure and Holy. His laws are upheld with the exacting punishment that a law breaker like you, me and everyone deserves.

Will you be able to say you will never do these things again?

Of course you will, because there will be no second chances at life. Man only lives once, then judgement day.

You can say you don’t believe in heaven or hell, but when you reach judgement day you will discover they are real. You are risking it all by denying it.

You may say you have been to church and all those people are hypocrites. I am not talking about church here, I am talking about you and whether or not on Judgement Day you will have an advocate, Jesus Christ, on your side or will you deny Him?

You may say you attend church or give to the poor. You may even say you give to the church.

The Bible says that salvation is a free gift.

When was the last time you got a gift that you had to pay for it?

Be honest now, you said you were a good person.

Never, you don’t pay someone to give you a free gift.

You also don’t have to work for that free gift. It wouldn’t be free then, would it?

So don’t try to justify going to church, being a good person or giving to a religion as your way into heaven, it isn’t.

I am saying this as bluntly and as straight forward as I can. Not wanting to offend, but wanting to make you sit up and take notice of sin and hell, salvation and heaven. Eternal damnation vs. eternal life. Think about it, ponder the consequences, wonder at the gift that was offered for you to accept or reject.

The Bible says the gift of God is eternal life. Not eternal death and damnation. His gift to all who will accept it is His son Jesus Christ, our advocate on Judgement Day, the One who paid the price for our sin, our breaking of the law. Not mans law, God’s law. His perfect law by which ALL will be judged.

You can allow the WORD of GOD to change your life, or you can try to find loopholes in it so you don’t have to.

Remember, if you were being honest you admitted to being a foul mouthed liar, thief, adulterer in your heart for lusting after another, looking upon someone with lust and desire, a murderer at heart for hating someone. ALL are against God’s law. Just part of the Ten Commandments. Ten rules to live by that all of us have failed at. The only way we can redeem ourselves is by accepting our free gift by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior.

This free gift of salvation doesn’t just apply to those who think themselves to be a good person.

If you consider yourself a horrible person, evil, of no value or desperate it does not matter, Christ is willing to be your advocate also. It is not a matter of degree as to how bad or good someone thinks they are. Acceptance of Christ is available to all who ask. God’s desire is that NO ONE should perish. God makes His free gift available to ALL.

I know that satan will do his best to make sin and law breaking seem less offensive, heaven less appealing, hell less horrific and the Gospel less urgent. But then you will be the one who has to answer for what you did, only you.

You may make excuses and say that at least you will party with your friends in hell. WAKE UP. Hell isn’t a party, it is real. Pain, suffering, darkness, torment all await you and more. You will be reminded constantly that you heard about the free gift of salvation and eternal life and you rejected it.

Eternity is a long time. If you live for 80 years, the average age for an American, consider this, George Washington has been dead for more than 200 years, more than twice as long as you will live. Julius Caesar, the Roman Emperor has been dead for over two thousand years, or ten times longer than President Washington.

Eternity is much much longer, it is without end.

Hell will seem even longer. Don’t fall for satan’s greatest lie; “that you have plenty of time to get right with God.” You may not live to be 80. You may not see the end of your life coming, you may not even have a moments notice before you take your last breath and then stand before the Judge,

Heaven is available for those who believe and as horrible and indescribable as hell is, heaven is exactly the opposite. Wonderful, perfect and words can’t begin to describe it. The choice is yours.

What if you don’t live a long life until you are 80?

What if you die tonight?

Would you go to heaven or hell?

How can you know which is your eternal destiny?

How simple and straight forward is it to receive your free gift?
